I love the baby stage...everything about it. Even the 3 A.M. feedings. Sure I hear a squeak on the monitor and hope they go back to sleep, but once I get myself up I enjoy the warm snuggles, gummy smiles, and quiet time that we have together. They are just so precious. These tiny infants were each sent straight from heaven to our home. They are so close to the veil.

It seems like there are so many more twins these days. Just between our ward and the Allen 5th we have 8 sets. I have always thought that this was because there are so many aborted pregnancies and so many babies that still need to come down to Earth. I think I personally had twins because my pregnancies are so awful that I was given a 2 for 1 deal. My heavenly father knows me so well.

Of course I know that it is much more significant than that. When I was pregnant and really struggling I was given a special blessing. In this blessing I was reminded that I knew these 2 spirits and that I loved them very much. I know that they were meant to come down to be a part of our family. But this got me wondering, why together? When I see them constantly holding hands I can't help but wonder what kind of special bond they already shared before they came down. They will have each other to lean on throughout life's journey. After all, "We are all just walking each other home."

I'm so lucky I get to be their mom and watch all 3 of my sweet girls learn and grow.

5 Months

They are too big to sleep side by side anymore!

Teeth.
Sophie cut her first tooth a few days before Remi and they each had the opposite side (either front left or front right) tooth come in first, which was interesting to me. Having the same DNA, I thought they would've each cut the same tooth first. Now they both have 2 tiny little razor sharp pearly whites on bottom. Teething for them was a dream. No diarrhea, no fussiness (seriously, there was maybe ONE time)...honestly if it wasn't for the drooling we would've been shocked at the sight of that first baby tooth.

We are finally on a schedule and back to sleeping through the night! Woohoo! They have babbled "mama" a time or two each, and they are starting to get more interested in rolling around. They love trying to sit up, but their muscles still have a ways to grow before they'll be doing that on their own. They smile and talk to each other more often now and I LOVE it! When they are within arms reach they are almost always holding hands.
I am trying to divide my time better during the day to entertain Wes and help the girls practice rolling over and interact with them etc. I am trying to give myself credit for all of the positive things I do accomplish and not focus on failures. I try every day to be a better mom and be more patient. I know that when I wake up with the determination to do better and be what THEY need and focus less on myself that my prayers are answered and I am better. This gives me lots of hope and encouragement. This last month I have gotten a lot more confident taking the girls out the stores without fear of Wes running off wild through the store. We ran lots of errands and she did very well holding the stroller. This has been great for all of us. No more feeling completely stranded everyday.

Did I mention they love holding hands?
Wes has been a good helper lately too. She doesn't like it when they cry and as soon as they start she tells me and usually suggests a binki.
Wes has really become SUPER attached to her "kitty kitty" lately. She always has her tucked under her arm. She doesn't leave the house without her or sleep without her. She loves to watch the kitty kitty show (The Aristocats) and sing along to all the songs in the car. She loves to show kitty everything and share everything with her. When it was 80 last week I rolled down Weslie's window in the car so she could enjoy it. The next time I looked back I saw kitty's head poking out of the car enjoying the breeze. There is constantly marker, sticky candy, drinks, bath water and anything else all over her. I have to distract Wes to get that darn thing away from her to throw in the washer on a quick cycle. Once she notices she's missing she asks about her and sometimes even cries until she gets her back. It think it is so cute and it has really been a crutch for her adjusting to the babies. We ordered another kitty and stashed it in our closet in case of an emergency.
We sure do have some sweet girls.

Wes is too busy for pictures these days. She never looks at the camera!
