Remi had no idea what she had done and took a little cat nap on the way to Children's hospital. She was quiet and shy as usual and I enjoyed some snuggles. They got us in really quick for an x-ray to see where the screw was at. She was very brave while she had her picture taken and didn't even cry when we had to take away the binki and "goggy" (her doggy).
They told us that the screw was nestled nicely in her stomach and that it was small enough that she would probably be able to pass it on her own.
They told us to watch for fever etc. and had us wait an hour while she had a snack and some juice to make sure it wouldn't upset her stomach. She drank the whole gatorade in minutes and was jabbering on and keeping us entertained. It was clear she was feeling totally fine. I felt better having had it checked out though...especially since we had met our deductible with her way back in JANUARY. She was given the same hospital gown that she wore last time around and I made sure we took it home with us this time.
I was supposed to take her back in 4 days later if she hadn't passed the screw (even though they said it might take up to 2 weeks). She's never been the most regular girl so we decided to wait a couple more days. After about a week of searching I started to get concerned and made an appointment for another x-ray. Going in for the 2nd time was really quick and easy. They informed me that the screw was gone...hooray! I feel like I searched pretty thoroughly for it and was annoyed that I made the extra trip, but I was glad to know that it was over.
