At the beginning of the summer I made a checklist for us (well mostly for me-summer is the hardest time for me). I wanted to make sure that we got out of the house every week and did things just for the girls. It would've been easy to stay home and work on the endless house projects but I am proud to report we did almost everything on the list! Oh and P.S. I made that chalkboard for my kitchen! (more to come on my DIY projects).

My favorite moments were when the girls were happily playing in their OWN backyard. There was lots of chalk, popsicles and sprinkler/hose time!
The hardest moment of the summer was when we all had to say goodbye and send aunt B off to college. She was such a help to us this year and I am so grateful the girls got to have so much special one on one time. We are so excited for her to start this next chapter, so that makes the separation a bit easier.
Other things that happened this summer:
-A big garage sale at the new house
-The twins first time at the movies
We saw the Minion Movie with the Shipleys' at Stonebriar mall. The movie was a little disappointing but it was still a great time. With all the kids and a quick stop for Chick Fil a to sneak into the theatre we were late and there were actually no seats in our movie time so we all snuck into the next showing and enjoyed our food first haha. That worked out great because we had enough time to make room for popcorn!
-Kevin and I went indoor skydiving with my family.
Such a fun experience but I don't think I'd pay that much to do it again anytime soon. We all laughed out loud when my dad was flying because his expression was HILARIOUS!
-Sophie and Remi upgraded to toddler beds shortly after the move.
-Oh yeah...and we got a puppy! She is a Morkie and she is so sweet! We named her Penny Lane Smith. The girls love her and she has been so patient with them. She's still in the hyper puppy stage and sadly we are still working on potty training. She is smart but super passive aggressive and stubborn, but I guess thats the Yorkie in her. She is about 3lbs now.
-We also watched Rosie (a dog) while our friends were out of town. Wes loved having a furry friend to sleep with her and Penny loved having her friend with her 24/7. Last week Rosie had puppies and we were there when it happened! She has 5 tiny babies now and she is rockin' mommahood!

She tried to make Rosie as comfortable as possible with the iPad in her bed and toys in her food bowl. One tender moment was when Prego Rosie needed some space. I told Weslie that Rosie needed some room and that she was a little sad missing Miss Kaisey. Wesley turned to her and quoted Daniel Tiger (Sweetest kid show ever!) saying, "It's ok Rosie. Grown-ups come back."
