4th of July

We went to the Allen fireworks again this year which was a blast! It is always worth fighting the crowds to come out to this one! We walked around and found the Chick-fil-A cow and got vouchers for free food. We shared lots of snacks and laughs with our friends, did glow sticks and watched all the kids dance and play for hours. This year everyone stayed awake and enjoyed the show!

On the actual 4th we had a pretty relaxed morning. In the afternoon we headed over to Firewheel for the free carnival games and face painting. Sophie was so excited to get a tiger face, she was dead set on it. However, she got the less talented artist and I think she had buyers remorse. Poor Soph! Life is tough!

Sophie and her serious business
When we couldn't take the heat anymore we headed over to get some food and hear Grandpa's band play. The girls had fun dancing and running around. It was a good time as always and we finished the night off with sparklers!

Tea Party

Weslie's best friend, Cecily hosted a mommy and me tea party a few weeks ago that was to die for cute! She was so excited the whole week! The girls were so cute and Wes even put her pinky out all on her own. It was fun to have a special date with her. I love that girl.

Blueberry Pickin'

The girls were so excited to go to the farm and pick some blueberries! I got lucky and found a place just 5 minutes from Grammy's house. Wes was over it after about 5 minutes. She hates being hot! Me too girl! Remi didn't even need a bucket. She ate every berry she picked...which was probably like 100. It's a good thing they didn't ask to weigh her when we paid for our berries at the end! Sophie was totally in her element and it took Grammy an extra 20 minutes to pull her away from the bushes to leave. She could've picked berries all day! This is definitely going to be an annual thing now! I can't wait to try out more places!

Stay-Cation

Momma Melinda offered to come and watch the girls over Father's Day weekend so we took advantage of some alone time!
Although the weekend got off to a late start due to a leaking AC...it didn't take long to settle in to some relaxation time!

As soon as we got to the hotel Kevin turned on the golf tournament. He's lucky it was Father's Day weekend and I needed a nap anyway!

We slept, tried delicious new breakfast places, stopped at Sprinkles, went to the mall, slept in, enjoyed the city views, saw a movie and even checked out Carlo's Bakery. It was low key and just what we needed!

The girls had lots of fun with Nana while we were gone and even made Kevin his favorite cake Father's Day. That week we got to do lots of fun stuff with Dad to celebrate him including a movie! We sure love him.
