I'll get back to talking about him in a minute, but first I wanted to write a little update so I can remember what life has been like lately. Thanksgiving was really weird being our first holiday at home without Chloe.
Christmas was quiet but fun! The girls were so fun to watch. When Weslie was looking around at everything in our room she informed me that Santa had brought our stockings upstairs to be with the presents and that was nice of him.

I loved having my sister home and felt like it went by way too fast.
We were spoiled with this being A + E's second visit that month and we had lots of cousin time. Sophie loves baby May.
It was also a great week with Nana visting. Kevin took off work and I had lots of extra help. We were able to get out of the house and do lots of things with the kids.

This last year we have been awesome at doing family scripture/prayer and started getting into a habit of doing FHE. This year my goal is to make it to sacrament meeting on time a little more frequently. (The twins started sunbeams by the way! They are nervous each week but they stay in there and have fun by the end!). One of my other New Years resolutions is to make myself more of a priority. It's hard with so many little kids that have lots of needs but I am going to try and carve out more "me" time, shop a little less for them so I can add more clothes that fit me to my wardrobe, and get a little healthier.
Back to Oliver, or Ovler as Sophie says. The girls love watching him grow and be able to do more just as much as I do. They cheer him on and love that they can hold and play with him more frequently. One of my favorite moments this past month was when we dressed Oliver in his Dragon outfit. Kevin brought him downstairs in a flying motion and all the girls got so excited. Everyone had a turn holding "dinosaur brother." They thought it was so awesome.
My least favorite moment so far has been taking him to get checked for RSV in the ER and having to listen to his hoarse cry for days after because of his sore throat. Luckily it was just a cold and our little guy has been Mr. chill since day one. He barely even cried getting his IV in. Still, having a sick baby is the worst.
Oliver loves having conversations and being held. He also loves eating, but will not take a bottle at all currently. This is the first time I have really been successful nursing. Wes and I both had a hard time with it, and I wasn't committed enough with the twins to pump every hour to make enough milk...or ready to take on tandem feeding. I love that Oliver loves nursing.
I haven't been bothered by night feedings at all because it has been such a special time for the two of us. He is so accommodating to the girls during the day which is awesome so it's been so nice to have that quiet time to snuggle with just him each night.
He only tolerates his car seat when it is in motion. He gets upset anytime we are stopped, including at stop lights. Weslie is my big helper in the car and she has been rocking it. Oliver also doesn't nap very well when we're not at home. I set myself up for problems when I decided to put his bed in the dark and quiet closet. It's wonderful when we're home, but I kick myself whenever we have a busy day and are on the go. He's been a little fussy and drooling lately which makes me nervous that he is teething early like Weslie did. I'm not ready to say goodbye to that sweet gummy smile yet.
Generally with food and snuggles he is a happy guy. He loves watching his crazy sisters and being close to his momma. He is such a love. He has brought so much balance to our family already. I still can't believe he's here and he's ours. We just love our sweet little guy so much.
