TEXAS!
During our 10 hr drive back from Cali on Wednesday Kevin received a call. It lasted only a few mins and then it was official, we were going to Texas! Kevin is going to be with Cisco Systems this summer doing a great internship. He is excited to work hard and learn everything he can. It'll be great experience and a great name to put on a resume. I am so grateful that our family could be here for the summer. I think it's the best thing for us right now. I am stoked to save money, probably get a part-time job, eat at all my favorite places, enjoy the warm humid weather, and spend time with everyone here while I continue to grow. I am also glad to be back with a doctor that I love. He just better give me my medication that I need! :) So we found out on Wed. and planned to leave a week from the following Monday. However that ended up getting bumped up a LOT and while Kevin golfed on Friday I packed and cleaned literally everything. Then on Sat. we ran all of our errands, picked up prescriptions, got everything loaded up in the car and even got to say goodbye to some friends. Sunday morning came all too soon and we were in the car driving by 5:00 AM and continued until about 3:00 AM Monday morning, when we had finally made it. To say that I am pretty worn out from the weekend is an understatement. Aspen was great for the whole drive and she is loving being here...except when she can't follow mom inside all the time. It breaks my heart to hear her crying but I think once she gets used to the other dogs she'll be in heaven. It has been great getting to see the family so far and we were even able to surprise my sisters about coming. Chloe hyperventilated and almost passed out on the kitchen floor when she saw me. It was awesome. My first ever Mother's Day was spent in the car but it was totally worth it. I am so glad we are finally here and relaxing. Kevin doesn't start working for about a week and a half so we are just enjoying the pool, running errands, and of course he's going to get a huge jump start on his online classes that he's taking this summer. I am so glad to be here and excited to see what the summer brings!
Baby Update:
We are now at 18 weeks and counting! Hopefully we will be able to find out what we're having next Tues, the 17th. From head to rump baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (the length of a bell pepper) and weighs nearly 7 ounces. From this point on I'm pretty much stuck sleeping on my side. No more belly sleeping for me :( Hopefully that means that I will start looking pregnant soon and not just chubby. I've noticed my appetite has picked up a little more, which is good since the doc wants me to put on a few lbs and I'm proud to say that I've been able to get in a little more exercise. We go see our new Doc on Tues and I'm pretty excited about it. Other than that I am just waiting to finally feel some movement!
While we were in Cali we found the perfect bassinet! We were going to settle for a pack and play until Kevin graduates and we move, since we don't have much room for a crib or want more things to move with us, but this is perfect! We are just waiting to see if we need to get pink or blue :)
