First Day of Preschool!

Time has really flown by the last 6 months. I can't believe we have already started school. I plan on catching up on the blog very soon. Everything is changing all the time and I just want to document every little moment.

Weslie was really excited to start school this week! She is doing Tues/Thurs 9-12 at an in-home preschool that is run by a lady in our stake. I could tell she was nervous about going the first day, but luckily I had pumped her up about it enough all week that she was pretty excited to take her backpack and go! I caved and got her a kitty shirt as part of her new "first day" outfit and that really made it feel like a special day right from the start. Kevin went with us to drop her off and we were both surprised at how anti-climactic the whole thing was. Mrs. Roper showed Wes where to put her back pack and where to go next and just like that she was off.

She has been so excited to tell me all about everything and show me the things she's made. I'm tempted to stay so that I can watch the fun but I know that this is such an important and good change for us. Wes has been exhausted both days after I have picked her up and her behavior has been so good! I can tell already that this is such a great outlet for her.

I always thought that when this day came that I would have some big lunch date plans or something to celebrate a little bit of freedom. However, I ended up deep cleaning their bathroom and catching up on some other things the first day. I was probably 20 minutes early to pick her up that day.
Today was much better. I took Soph and Remi to Firewheel to pick up a few things and then realized that none of the stores open until 10. So I played with the girls at the park for a while first. Remi cried when we dropped Wes off today but I think she really enjoyed being out and having more attention. I think having time to spend more focused on them and even have individual time is going to be awesome for them and probably help with their super shyness. I know I'm going to make the most of this time. They are learning new things and growing every day and it's so bittersweet.
