Since getting back from California not much has changed with our hail damaged house. We are still waiting on windows and new carpet which is frustrating but we are back into a some what normal routine. I am finally past the worst of the sickness this pregnancy. I am still pretty depressed (which is normal for pregnant me) but it has been manageable. Over all I think this has probably been my easiest pregnancy. I am 18 weeks tomorrow and already pretty big. I have to cut myself more slack though with this being my 3rd pregnancy and my body remembering carrying the twins. Besides I just get huge. Even if I ate salad all day long I would still retain water like crazy and blow up!
The girls are SO excited for the baby and that makes it all worth it. They love to come to the sonograms and see the pictures and they talk about it all the time. I think adding a 4th will be pretty easy after having the twins. The pregnancies are always the hardest part for me anyway. The twins have always been a lot to handle with there being two of them and them being so little and I think it will be good for them and Wes to have another one added into the mix to balance things out a little more.
Baby is growing healthy and I've been able to hear the heart beat a couple times and feel little kicks every night. Kevin hasn't been able to be at the last few appointments so we are really looking forward to the next one so he can finally hear the heart beat too!
There have been a few big changes since getting back though. Remi has given up the binki for good. It broke my heart the morning I told her she needed to give it to me so that other babies that needed it could have them and she replied (Bink still in her mouth) "Goodbye binker, I love you." It was probably harder for me than it was for her emotionally. She has wanted us to stay in the room with her until she falls asleep at bedtime but it hasn't been too bad. They are all getting so big and I feel like I'm missing it because I'm in this pregnant funk. Then I have the mommy guilt about not being a good mom and feel worse and the cycle goes round and round. I've really tried to get out of the house more since we've been back but I have hardly taken any pictures of them.
Wes went through a pretty hard time for a while with constant arguing and trouble making but we have made some changes and had some break throughs with figuring out what she needs and why she has been expressing herself that way which has been awesome.
I took on painting my room and the downstairs which has been so therapeutic and has made the house look so much cleaner! It is almost completely done. Now we just need windows and natural sunlight and I think I will be motivated enough to start cleaning again.
We also had to say goodbye to our Penny girl. She was pretty passive aggressive and despite 6 months of seriously devoted training she was still having accidents and my crazy preggo self couldn't handle it anymore. That girl was born to be a lap dog and I think we found the perfect family for her where she will be much happier. She was such a cute little sweetheart and we miss her! I first told Wes that Penny was on vacation because I couldn't crush her soul, but after a couple weeks I pulled her aside and told her that there was another family that really needed her and that she was going to stay on vacation with them. I made sure she knew that Penny loved her very much and misses her and she took it really well. I promised her we'd get another dog after the baby comes and I intend to! I just can't have pets while pregnant...and next time we are sticking to what we know is a good fit for us..Maltipoo's!
Wes's ballet classes ended and she got to perform in her big recital which was adorable! She did so great and loved it! When she came out for pick up she said, "Where's my flowers?" Good thing I got some for her!
I also took a short weekend trip to Utah to visit Chloe, help her with wedding planning, eat at all my favorite places and meet Justin! He is very nice but so shy! It was so nice to be kid free for a few days and see some of my Utah friends and family. We also got to see a bobcat sleeping on someone's porch in Heber which was pretty cool.
Two short weeks later Chloe brought Justin home to meet the rest of the family and see where she grew up. They arrived on Kevin's birthday and after he played golf all day we all had a nice dinner to celebrate! The girls were so excited to give him his presents this year. He and I also had a date of our own.
Hopefully I can get back to updating regularly now that life has slowed down a little bit! Summer is officially here in Texas!
