We're Expecting!!!

Yes it's true, we're preggers! And yes, it was planned! I am about 9 weeks along now. It's still pretty early, but we couldn't keep the secret any longer! We are so excited for our little family to grow! Our due date is October 9, and it can't come soon enough. Here's some updates on how our little family has been doing since we found out the news.

Mom:
The first few weeks after we found out were really tough on me. I was sicker than a dog, and throwing up anywhere from 6-12 times a day. Finally after a few weeks my doctor put me on some anti-nausea medication and boy, has it been a miracle in my life! Although nothing is a cure all, I can deal with the nausea and exhaustion just fine, as long as these pills keep holding vomit back!

Dad:
Dad has been working so hard so mom doesn't have to, since she's sick. We are all very excited for him to graduate this year. He has been very patient with mom, and sometimes he even goes to the same store twice in one day to get her food that she thinks will agree with her belly. He takes such good care of our family and holds us together with all these new and crazy changes going on. We love dad a lot!

Aspen:
Aspen's smell and the smell of her dog food etc. was really bothering mom. They were not getting along and it was a destructive relationship for both momma and pup. Mom had a nervous breakdown and listed her for sale. Thankfully dad was there to stop mom from making such a huge mistake! Aspen went on vacation to Vals for a little while. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Val and family for being able to take her away for a little while.

Baby:
This week the baby is nearly an inch long (about the size of a grape) and weighs a fraction of an ounce. It's constantly moving and shifting, even though mom still can't feel it. Here's the baby's first present. Getting these clothes last weekend from Grandma Day really made it real for us. These clothes are so cute!

On a side note, Codi and the family have been so nice to us! During my first few horrible weeks Codi made sure to check on me down in the basement, to see if I was alive and if needed anything. They have also been feeding us a LOT more than we have been cooking for them. It was nice to have someone to talk to that was always right here since the beginning of this new experience. They take pretty good care of us and we are lucky to be here. Thanks Jenkins!

Here's a fun video of us telling my family!

  1. Congrats guys. This is great news. Loved the video too of Heidi freaking out. It's so funny cause they were over here on Sunday and we were teasing them about becoming grandparents.... haha... they totally withheld the information. :)

I love how Chloe already knew though - she's the one who knows everything.

P.S. Why is becca invited to the special family meeting and not your favorite cousins??? :)
